Bigger Than Hip Hop has finally been published and it's in bookstores now! u_net's first editorial project is published independently by AgenziaX and COX18Books - the publishing house of the CSOA COX18 - under Creative Commons Licence. Bigger Than Hip Hop contains coverart by Jacklamotta, illustrations by Paper Resistance and pictures by Henry Chalfant.

Bigger Than Hip Hop is a journey into the most critical issues affecting contemporary Hip Hop culture and the Afro American youth in the US. Throught the words of artists such as Chuck D (Public Enemy), M1 (Dead Prez), Boots Riley (The Coup) and cultural critics such as Bakari Kitwana, Jeff Chang, Greg Tate and Mark Anthony Neal - just to name a few - u_net shapes an indeep analisys of the evolution of the Black community during the last 30 years, using rap lyrics, street art, cinema, political and social issues as a mean to convey the complexity of contemporary urban culture. Quoting from the intro "Bigger Than Hip Hop is a tribute to Black history and culture, u_net's first step into the world of Hip Hop culture and a challenge to do better in the tradition of the Hip Hop battles".

Quannum Special Pt.1: u_net presents the first part of a special on the independent label Quannum Projects, first conceived in 1991 as a collective by the artists Blackalicious, DJ Shadow, Lateef, Lyrics Born and the journalists DJ Zen (Jeff Chang) and Jazzbo (Joseph Patel), under the moniker Solesides Records. Now headquartered in San Francisco, Quannum has grown to be one of the nations leading independent labels, having sold over 2 million records since its inception. The Quannum family has continued to expand with releases from such diverse artists as So Paulos Curumin, vintage keyboard guru General Elektriks, the electronic hip-hop duo Apsci, LA-based MC Pigeon John and the Bay Areas own skateboarding legend Tommy Guerrero. Danny Hoch is an actor, playwright and director whose plays Pot Melting, Some People, and Jails, Hospitals, Hip-Hop have garnered many awards. His writing and acting credits for television and film include Bamboozled, Washington Heights, Prison Song, Subway Stories, Thin Red Line, Whiteboys, Blackhawk Down, American Splendor, War Of The Worlds, Lucky You and HBO Def Poetry. Mr. Hoch founded the Hip-Hop Theater Festival in 2000 which has since presented over 75 hip-hop generation plays from all over the world. His new play Till The Break Of Dawn, will premiere in New York in 2006. Danny Hoch and u_net talk about the Hip Hop Theatre festival, Hip Hop as an artform and a glocal phonemenon.
